Good morning everyone have a question on this 1969 S first question is what does the VDB mean and does it have a decent value in its condition. Once again thank you in advance. I hope you're all having a great day this far and may it continue

Those are the initials of the designer of our cents:

The letters V D B are the initials of the original designer of the coin. Victor David Brenner in this case. The initials were on the reverse side at the bottom on the 1909, but it was thought that this was an 'advertisement' for his metal engraving work. The initials were removed mid-year, so two different types of 1909 Lincoln cents were struck. The initials returned to the design in 1918, but this time they were on the obverse in same position as on your coin and much less conspicuous.

The condition of you coin is nice, but shows signs of circulation, so the value is not going to be anything over face value. More than 544,000,000 1969-S Cent were struck in San Fracisco, so only those in almost perfect condition will have a premium value.

I think a tear just ran down my leg. This is what it looks like without the zome on it. Thank you gentlemen. If I may say something about my experience this far, that is I am extremely fascinated on this coin collecting and hunting that it has literally affected my responsibilities here at home. Its a good thing I've been divorced for a few years now and my kids are young adults now. Ive also experienced some misfortunes just recently with having 2 of my work utility trucks stolen within 6 weeks of each with tools valuing well over 200k. What I'm getting at guys is never give up no matter how grim things may seem you just have to believe that no matter what it is uou want that you will achive it.. you just have to say it at least 3 times a dah and believe it and believe in yourself. I hope I'm not breaking any communty rules however this is something that I wouldnt be ashamed of if my kids read it. I look forward in continuing this cool journey with you my new friends and who knows maybe family.. Now lets get hunting.. tuck drop and roll hunting !!!lol
