We've only seen two coins of the collection. While these two particular coins may not warrant regrading, what about the others we haven't seen yet? Seems premature, since there are quite a few Morgan and
Peace dollars that have significant price jumps between MS62-MS63 or MS62-MS64.
I would only regrade or cross over the key dates in Unc (24S, 27D/S, 28/28S, and especially 34S) and make sure to choose "upgrade only" so they do not run the risk of being re-holdered in a lower grade. Otherwise, it's not financially beneficial to pay for reholder/regrade unless the difference in price between grades justifies the expense.
e.g. you have a 1927-D in MS62, you think it's a 63 or even a 64, that would be worth it, but a 1922 or 1923 would not.
The old ANACS small white holders in and of themselves carry a slight premium and they will be of interest to collectors in those holders.
Unlike Morgans, most
Peace dollars did not "tone pretty", but I'd still rather have that original toning vs. a dip job.
