Heritage Auctions - Seven die marriages are known for the first-year dime. Star 15 lightly joins the drapery, a diagnostic characteristic of JR-2. Each digit leans sharply to the right, creating an "italic" date. The obverse shows light clash marks, minor die cracks, and a narrow rim break over stars 7 and 8. The reverse displays bold clash marks. An impressive Choice example with splashes of peripheral russet-brown toning. Devoid of relevant abrasions, and a desirable example of the two-year Small Eagle type. From The Duffy Family Collection.

Too bad I don't care for dimes. Now if it were a Half Dime, I'd be in the market...but not for anywhere near what they'd want.

That said, I found a holed 1797 F-VF Half Dime not long ago and put it on my keychain. Same bust and eagle in miniature.
