Not good at attempting to grade these - I'm going with VF. Thoughts?

Got enough detail to call XF-40ish to me eyes, Liberty is sharp and well defined.

From your pics, I'm a touch more...maybe an XF-45. I'm thinking that the color is not quite right in your photos. The elements that I look for are the strength of the "Liberty", very little wear on the feathers/headdress as well as a good strong Wreath and Shield. Your coin doesn't appear to have major damage on the denticles or rim. All of these elements are certainly there but, they are a bit soft. I might even be able to go a bit higher in grade but, I'm going to hold steady at XF-45. Very nice IHC!

Awesome! Thanks for the analysis king. I will use that info moving forward when analyzing these coins.

EF-40 sounds about right.

It's more of an XF than a VF to my eyes.

Sorry to disagree but in my opinion it can't grade any higher than VF for one simple reason. The ribbon with the diamonds is not clearly separated from the hair curl. Too much wear and flatness of that area to justify XF.

I suggest that you look at the PCGS site for the photograde comparison. In grades from VF-20 to VF-35 the hair curl merges with the ribbon. In XF-40 the ribbon is separated from the hair curl.

Quote: I suggest that you look at the PCGS site for the photograde comparison cant just look at one marker to determine grade. you need to look at everything together. XF40
