Just watching 'Digging For Britain' on BBC2, a repeat of an episode called 'Roman Towns and Tudor Shipwrecks'. There was a fascinating section about how Tudor coins were made, with a visit to the remains of the old Royal Mint in the Tower of London, and a demonstration showing how Henry VIII debased his coins. Thanks for this Rob, only just noticed it. I'll have a look at this.

I live in St Albans, site of Roman Verulamium, and must admit I haven't been to the museum or the hypocaust here since I was about 5 despite my interest in the subject. I find all this stuff fascinating.
