Ok here it is my 250th post contest. Also to celabrate that the board. Almost have 800 members. Hope it make it buy the end of the month. As most of you know I like to do easy contest so that the most people can get involved and try to get new people involved. The contest and rules are easy.
The Contest:
The contest is to guess how much in change there is in this box. It is all US money. This box is a box of coins that I got from my sons piggy bank. My son won some toys on ebay and had to pay me out of his piggy bank. It also has some coins for rolls that I looked through. I am going to take these coins to a coin star machine tomorrow to cash is in so what ever it says the total is that is what I will be going off of. Yes I have looked through all those coin first.
The Rules:
1.Only two guess per member doesn't have to be in same post though
2.No changing your guess
3.Post your answer here
4.If there is a tie I will put them in a hat and have someone draw a name for me.
5.If there is not a right answer I will go buy who ever is closest either way high/low
6.Contest will last until Sunday at 11:00 PM EST or message board time
7.Any one can enter 1st post to 3000 post
8.Have fun
This is a easy contest. All you have to do is look and make a guess how much might be in the box in the picture below. If there is any question please ask either post it or email it to me.
The Prize will be posted in my next post.

Here are the prizes. You will get to chose one of the three prizes. The prizes are nothing to great as most of you know I have not been collecting really long so I do not have a lot to giveaway but still like to do it and until my funds build up a little I can not go buy stuff to giveaway.
Here they are
1.10 Mercury dimes in a Dansco push style holder-great for beginner or someone who want to start this set.
2.1885 Morgan dollar
3.2006 American Silver Eagle
So the winner will get to chose from one of these three things.

Prize 1

They call that a "walking liberty" design on the obverse of the coin like the old .50 cent peices the reverse I am not sure if it was on another coin or not

A little U.S. coinage lesson I just found out myself, (being a beginning collector) courtesy of NGC:
The American Silver Eagle, a one ounce .999 fine silver, one dollar denominated coin went on sale in 1986. Its obverse featured A.A. Weinman's artful rendition for the Walking Liberty half dollar. Each piece was to be guaranteed by the United States government for its weight, content and purity, making it the only silver bullion issue guaranteed by the U.S. Government. Some collectors inquire whether the Silver American Eagle is a coin or silver round. A simple explanation is that any piece issued by the Mint with a "face value" is a coin. The Silver Eagle does have a one dollar denomination, but even though it is denominated by the Government, it is never intended to circulate at face value. Rather it trades relative to its intrinsic metal price, which well exceeds its face value. There are many pattern pieces and commemoratives issued in the same way that are, in a numismatic sense, accepted as coins. Without hesitation, all American Eagles are indeed coins. The 1988 Silver Eagle emerged as the key date in MS70.

This is a copy and paste from the NGC eNewsletter But figured I would share it with all the people that know little about U.S. coins but like me love to learn the history behind the coins. Sorry to all of you that already get the NGC eNewsletter and had to read this twice
