Hi all,

I was thinking of purchasing a Dansco coin album for my Egyptian collection, but I dont know what type will be suitable to hold all the coins and if the album will allow a type or date arrangement of the coins.

I found this one;

http://www.coinsupplyexpress.com/70...u-23920.aspx

Will this be suitable?
Has anyone ever purchased or used this one?
What would you recommend regarding which album to buy i.e. Dansco, Whitman...etc and which model of each?

I know I asked a lot of questions but I know nothing about this, and there is no album that is designed specially for Egyptian coins?

Thanks

IMO, Dansco is classier than whitman. If Egyptian coins are more or less the same size as US coins you can always buy blank pages.

I have been using Dansco albums almost 25 years now and really like them.

Not sure what coins you have, but this one might work. For my non-US and other miscellaneous coins, I use the plain Dansco binders with nine 12-pocket pages for 2x2's.

I looked at that album and don't think you'll be happy with it. It looks like it just has a page each of pennies, nickels, etc. Your coins might not even fit in them. They also have the words 'CENTS'... printed on the page, which wouldn't apply to your coins.

If you want a page full of the same type of coin, you can buy what they call "millimeter pages" from one of the suppliers. That way you can be sure to get the size that fits your coins. You can also buy blank books that hold anywhere from 4 to 8 or 9 pages.

If you want a page with lots of different sized coins, like in the US type sets, I don't think you're going to find it. The next best thing is to buy the clear pages that hold 2x2s and mix and match yourself.

I don't know of any supplier for Egypt coin albums.
