I found these all on one coin. I recently got some new rolls from my bank and I found this in the rolls. multiple quarters. I also found what I think is considered a die chip progression, which Ill post photos of soon.

Looks like some nice die chips, a die crack, and perhaps a die dent. That is a fun find!

I agree with that. But, is this the same quarter in another topic you asked about doubling? (just curious)

same rolls. I got 20 rolls last week and going threw them I found these chips and cracks in a lot of them. some more pronounced then others. This is why I'm going to post some photos of what I think may be progression of a few die cracks. my other post I pointed out the small chip under the O in OF. that's is what I believe to be the early stage of the chip and the last photo in this post near the end of the die chip, which turned it into what another collector called "the extra mountain".

how long until they remove them as chipped? I have so many all in various stages . I have some that have the Washington nose chip and a chip on Edith's nose. Then I have the same ones with the extra mountain. I'm asking because I would like to guesstemate how many more might be out there, knowing I have so many out of 20 new rolls. I have the very tiny beginning of Washingtons nose chip all the way up to the size I showed, some a little different in shape butt basically same size.

Ah, ok I see now. The mint will keep using a die if the chips are small - after all they can examine every coin that pops out. usually when the die exhibits extreme and obvious wear is when they change them out.
So, I can wait to see your progression of chips here.

HOW LONG? Just till the computer and the laser go out of normal usurers parameters. To day an Die will live max 90 min. I have in my collection the Die and the first coin strike with that Die who live 14 min. I am second because my friend has one with 12 min.

Phil 86 presses and 60 plus in Denver. Is no way to know progression. The places those chips develop are the places which has the more material stress. So theoretical all the Dies will develop this in the same place. It is an normal metal stress.
