Cuds etc. The fair market value of a clashed dies Cent similar to the one your interested in is around 4 (four) bucks. Scarce would be to strong a word to describe these, I would say their only frequently infrequently found. Yes there are die clashed cents worth a premium but value depends on strength of clash and overall rarity most may trade for 4-5 bucks as a courtesy between collectors. The fact you considerd paying 40 bucks for it hints to me perhaps its time to study up on your interests. In my hunting through bank boxes of cents I average a nice "prison cent" every 3-4 boxes with many more that are clashed but not keeper worthy.
