2022 P Lincoln Shield Cent Struck Through Rim Burr

Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 73747 Posts	Posted 06/26/2023 12:27 pm I found this one CRH a while back. It shows a nice Struck Through Rim Burr error. You can see where the rim got shaved off, right next to the struck though. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff

gorham_collector Valued Member United States 426 Posts	Posted 06/26/2023 2:39 pm If this was a rim burr you wouldn't see the zinc in the rim there as the rim burr would've been plated over by the copper and also the section without the rim would be plated too. This is a strike thru tho thru a piece of the rim once it enters the striking chamber. How it occurs I do not know but I believe the broken piece of the rim that gets struck thru on the coin is from the proto rim being defective as the rim is made once struck. And then somehow that piece of the rim flakes off and gets struck thru on the coin in any area sometimes far or close to where the rim piece fell off Report this Post to the Staff

I have only went through a couple rolls. I am hoping I'll find something worth keeping in it. I did find a very minor 2001 Philly bar column DDR that was too minor to keep and list.
