O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G! O M G!

I got a set of the last Dutch Guilders! If you remember, I was on the lookout for a 50 guilder note with the sunflower, but I didn't get one. However, I won this set of 10, 25 and 100 guilders! These are from the same series, so this completes a part of my pre-Euro series!

The designs look really unattractive from afar, but in your hand, they are absolutely spectacular! On the back 10 and 100 guilder, there's glitter-type thingys that are also on the cover of the US passport. And the 100 Guilder is shiny because the entire front is printed with luminescent ink! There's also this complete embossing of the from with dots!

And here to show them off...

And the best part is, I got them for less than exchange!

Nice finds. I always enjoy looking at the different designs. However, I still can't help thinking it looks like play money.

I'm trying to get notes that are in AU or UNC because after 2012 (2032 for the Netherlands) most notes will expire and become worthless.

But, I have many listings on many sites saying that I'm buying notes from Europe before the Euro changeover.

And sorry for killing your bandwidth. Smaller pics with links to the bigger pics are posted.

Dutch pre-euro notes will always hold sentimental value to me! When you deem them worthless, send 'em my way!

I am trying to find a fifty for you WD1040.

success,

Well, thanks for the offer, but if I get a 50, something inside me will scream to get the 100 and 250 from the same series! That's gonna cost a few serious coins!

These are bar codes, and I think Lebanese banknotes also have them.

As for face value, they're no longer freely exchangeable except at the Dutch Central Bank. Nevertheless, they are set at EUR61.26, which today is equal to about $80.
