It is the model number of the album.

If you follow that link I provided, you will see it listed below the description. As far as I know, all Dansco album model numbers are four digits and begin with a '7' or '8'. The ones beginning with an '8' are ones that include "proof-only" issues. For example, the 7176 is for Eisenhower dollars, the 8176 is for Eisenhower dollars including the proof-only issues.

I need me one of them there slip cases when I finish up this dad gum album. I have 2 major purchases on layaway for it which will make the completion of the album not very far off I hope. I have the Classic Head Large cent in MS-62 and a Seated dollar in MS-64 on layaway (close to 5000.00 in these 2 coins alone)which is pretty much the reasons I have hit a stand still for so long waiting to find the perfect pieces for this album

Good thing there isn't a 8070 album because it would cost a million dollars to finish.

Dont mean to hijack this thread but since we are talking about the dansco album, does anyone know how well those pages work for the Dansco that is supposed to hinder toning?
