Greetings, I believe it is this one a 1964-D RPM-002. http://www.varietyvista.com/07%20Ro...4DRPM002.htm But now with the coin in hand, verify this by looking for the die markers and how well of a match the alleged RPM is for the photo has shadowing so I`m only looking at the best possible one. Remember everything must match up exactly for the appropriate Stage the Die is in....B or C ? maybe. I can`t tell with the pics you provided. Good luck ! And the ear just took a well placed hit PMD there.

I agree that my RPM looks similar to 1964-D RPM-002. But weren't the mint dates punched by hand, and if so, no two re-punched marks would look exactly the same due to human inconsistency. Is it possible to find a new variant? I'm not saying mine is, but it is an interesting question?

Sorry but no there will not be some no variant to be discovered, while yes they were Punched by human hands with all the 100`s or 1,000`s of eyeballs searching coins each and every year after year back then and now millions. all that could be discovered has been given the simple fact the die that has a RPM on it will have Struck 100`s of 1,000`s of coins with that RPM. I still say it is a good chance to be the 1964-D RPM-002. Just do your homework with the coin and inspect all needed Die markers to verify.

Thank you all.... Can I use acetone (?) to clean the coin in order to better see the die markers?

mint marks were punched into the die not the coin, and each die usually makes many thousands of coins, so examples can be alike

Check MM position. Yours is too far to the east. On the 002 you see a definite line between the 2 MM. On yours you can see that it has slid from one to the other. 002 kinda looks like machine damage, but there is no slid too it. And yes to the acetone. You can us it on all coins no problem.

I have attached two new pictures from different angles that I think confirm what everyone has been saying. The doubling is MD!
