The weight is 2.6 grams. Next to a normal coin it is half the width.

Very cool find! Wonder where the other half wound up. Because Inconsistent alloy mixtures and lamination issues were rampant in this series, split planchets are more common in Buffalo nickels than other series. Still uncommon though, especially a full split.

How did you come across this one?

This wouldn't be called the width. It's the 'Thickness' on the coin. Nickels should have a thickness of 1.95 mm. Your coin would be around 1 mm thick if the coin split exactly at the center.
