Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6498 Posts	Posted 07/16/2023 10:33 pm From CRH for nickels, Denver was atrocious for their broken posts and damaged mint mark punches during the 1970s. When I separate out the nickels from that decade, I would say that 70-80% of the mint marks are mangled. Many have a very shallow center post, and some are just filled completely. It's to the point where if I get a correctly shaped D, that my brain processes that as something unusual. Circulation wear will eventually beat those poorly formed mint marks into a barely recognizable blob of metal. Report this Post to the Staff
