I acquired this item via online auction. The description simply said "Ancient: bronze amulet or token?".
Actually, it's lead, as I can dent the edge with my thumbnail. I had hoped to make it into a necklace, but not anymore.
Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
12.78 g; 25.5 mm diameter, 6.8 mm thick.

With the hole in the center and a weight of about 25 g, you might have a spindle whorl here.

Spence, thanks for the tip! After looking into "spinning whorls" it seems that you are correct. Many thanks!
I'm still bummed that I can't use it for a necklace.

I had to look up what a spindle whorl was, that's a neat piece Honda!

Just reweighed, as I had not calibrated my scale beforehand. It was showing half-weight for some reason!
New verified weight = 25.57 g.

Thanks, chrsmat! I was attracted to the patterns on it as much as anything else.
