My father and I are interested in purchasing large lots of silver coins. We are particularly interested in Morgan and Peace dollars that are circulated and ungraded. Do any of you guys know of dealers that sell large lots($5,000+) at discounted prices? I have tried to search on google and yahoo, but didn't have much luck. Any help you guys can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

On the subject line- type vanhelsing-bullion .

Sometimes in Coin World, I have seen dealers advertise large lots like you describe. Some of the big dealers that take out multiple full-page ads may have what you are after. However, I haven't ordered such things so I don't know for certain how good these dealers are. Maybe someone else here has some experience with them.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I was busy during the weekend. I appreciate all the information provided. ebay has alot of cheap lots for sale. I have been bidding on the larger lots at that site. Hopefully, I can win some. Are there any auction sites with more coins than ebay?

I personal think you would do beter contacting the dealer that I put in my last post. he is very honest and resonable and you wold probably get a beter deal from him then ebay for a very large amount.

they all seem to know what they are talking about. I do buy from big dealers in Coin World but only certain things. I wouls ay it really comes down to how much you know. some people out may take advantage of you. I f some like djluster can hook you up with an honest dealer I would consider that first an d formost . and if you are real new at it buy some coins and spend the rest on books. books are the best asset you can have.

I have to agree, it is very hard to get a "good deal" on ebay because of all the people that go there. A personal dealer would be the best bet to get large amounts of coins, and you would be doing business with the same person all the time and not 100 different people just trying to get the same amount of coins you could have gotten from this one dealer. The shipping on the ebay items if you win a few of them will kill you also where you would just pay one shipping charge with a dealer. Of course this is just my opinion
