Since there has been so much talk about Birthday Notes lately, I have decided to share one of mine.

This is called a RADAR in fancy serial number terms where a note reads the same left to right as it does right to left. http://www.coolserialnumbers.com/Fa...Numbers.aspxBeing also a date and/or birthday note is always interesting at times depending on the date and events that may have happened. Shakira, Farrah Fawcett American actress.and Christie Brinkley were all born Feb 2nd. Gene Kelly American actor/dancer ("Singing in The Rain") dies at the age of 83. And related to coins, Anna May Wong on a recent quarter - Actress (Thief in Baghdad), passes away at 56 on February 2, 1961. So you can see how some notes might interest some collectors even when the date itself isn't just that "normal" persons birthday or their anniversary.

Not my thing but this one isn't so much a birthday as a radar note and I guess you can say a binary (as it's just 2 digits).

Quote: Not my thing but this one isn't so much a birthday as a radar note. Technically its a binary radar since there are also only two digits (0s and 2s) so thats another plus, but not a true binary (0s and 1s) that are of even higher value/demand to collectors.

@datadragon, you need to let me update my posts ;). I had posted that it's a binary in the case of 2 digits (well not a true binary since it's not 1 and 0)
But still not my thing. These just don't interest me at all. So much other things to collect.

Quote: @datadragon, you need to let me update my posts ;). I had posted that it's a binary in the case of 2 digits (well not a true binary since it's not 1 and 0) All good - yes I can be very fast lol - you edited your post to add binary at the same time I was posting in reply to your message without that info before the edit in the quote. I didnt include that in my own original post as well since binaries that arent 0s and 1s are another in that long list of mid level fancy serials that some exclude. Here is more on binaries that may be helpful to those who are reading this later: What you have first is a 'binary' note (and radar as discussed already). This means it has two digits 0+2 only. A true binary note is where the serial numbers can only contain 1s and 0s and true binary's tend to be more valuable - enough so to potentially grade them.True binarys are gradable by PMG as is radars. https://www.pmgnotes.com/news/artic...On-Currency/ Condition also always plays a factor ultimately in determining value. Nowadays, binary serial numbers have been extended to many types, and if the serial numbers consist of two different digits like yours then they are also called binary but have a lower value than a true binary which appeal to serious collectors of fancy serial numbers. However of course this note has the radar etc. These other types of binaries will tend to sell more to casual collectors on places like ebay for a few dollars over face value even in circulated condition and a bit more when in great shape like this one. You can check ebay sold listings for value (not what it listed but currently unsold) as they are regularly sold there so doesn't require lots of research.. I dont think they are going for anywhere near enough to warrant grading fees as mentioned, but a good keeper or can sell if thats what your after.
