Sometime back I bought some coins from a guy who invested in whatever took his fancy and usually without more than a modicum of knowledge in what he was buying.
When the fancy passed he would dispose of his items which is how I obtained them
All the coins were separate from their descriptions but I think that I have married them up but as my Greek and Roman coin knowledge is close to zero I'd appreciate your confirmations and if possible your estimate of their possible value as I will now be selling them.

The description of this one reads..

167-88 B.C. Ar drachma, radiate head of Helios right.
Rev. P-O either side of rose with bud,Magistrates name, all within an incuse.
Lightly toned,really good very fine.

All that seem OK but in my opinion the condition is better than ''really good very fine''

This coin is from the Carian Islands, Rhodes, AR Drachma the reverse is upside down but I believe the magistrates name is Melantas. So that would make this coin circa 125-88 BC.

I read the Magistrate's name as "MEAMWN"; I haven't been able to find this magistrate on CoinArchives. But Here's an example of the coin Echizento's talking about. It's certainly a similar style, and probably a similar date.

I've taken a couple more photos to make the magistrates name clearer if that will help.

Nope, I can see it now... it's "MNEMWN" (Mnemon). I googled and found this one - it's a hemidrachm with the three-quarters profile rather than the side profile, but it's probably the same guy.
