As for the coin in question: what we have here is a "fantasy mule", not a genuine ancient Chinese coin. It takes the designs of the obverses of two different coins: the top pic is copied from a Ban Liang, a type of coin made in China roughly 200-100 BC. Genuine Ban Liang coins don't have a rim, and don't have anything on the other side. We have seen these particular replicas on the forum before; Here's an example. I do not believe they are very old; probably mid-20th century or so. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
