N-12 is popular to collect by die stage as it as several of them. Your is listed as the B die stage in Noyes book. Stage A just has a few light cracks, Stage B has the heavy cracks shown on your coin. Stage C has an internal die break on Star 1, and Stage D has a Cud that extends from Star 1 through star 3 and partway to star 4.

That "bar" die break between the 1 and 7 actually starts as two die cracks. One through the tops of 181 to the 7, and the other from lower on the 1 through the 7 to the 13th start and beyond. The later the piece of the die between the two cracks breaks away creating the bar.

Cool piece. Many early coppers' collectors chose and avidly seek out a particular year to seek. A dealer-friend of mine loves the 1798's. The 1817's were the year I gravitated toward. Check ot the other varieties, like the one with 15 stars. Decent, lower-grade specimens from this year won't seriously tax a copper lover's wallet!
