Thump1, You has an 2006 coin strike on reflex presses. So what you come to say do not fit the narrative. For coins striking purpose, only the Mints cross the word can have those presses and no others.
Understand that what you has is the worst of the worsts quarters I saw in my life.

I had this looked at in a coin shop and do not know who to believe. I was told this is a feeder finger damaged coin and I was offered $80, I was not looking to sell it and it was not graded. SO is this coin shop wrong and go get the $80. Or were these comment wrong and the shop right and I was getting underbid for a coin that was not graded. @ stories just would like to know how to tell it was damage by finger feeder or man made damage. When I looked up finger feeder damage, I have a Wheat penny that fits the description and this quarter dose. Who would determine how it was damaged? Thanks If this has a value I want my granddaughter to know.

Well, in my eyes, if your Local Coin Store offered you $80.00 for this damaged quarter, take it. Then (if it were me) I wouldn't go back to it because - in My opinion, they don't know what they are doing when it comes to damaged or error coins.
Even if it WERE finger Finger Damage - I still don't see it being worth that much.. Now - the preceding statement is and was of my own opinion here.

Just to educate me how did this person find out that this was a finger feeder error from the mint? I am taking this is just a personal opinion which I appreciate this is what I'm trying to figure out cuz I have a lot of strange coins that are just like the one in that picture I just posted who determines whether it's mint error or damage after they left in over the years

That coin is not finger feeder damage. It is struck on feeder finger a big difference. If you think that your coin is any kind of error, maybe you need to find a new hobby.

Maybe you can keep your sarcasm to yourself, is this not a form to ask questions if you can not give your opinion or have the answer who can tell me who determines how it was damaged, you may want to seek people skills.

@Thump if you really can't plainly see the difference between your mangled quarter and one struck on a foreign object that isn't even a planchet, then I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm always happy to teach, but other than saying "open your eyes and look!" I don't know how else to point out the obvious differences between your coin which shows clear signs of distortion to the design, displacement of metal, and various scratches, scrapes, and dents that can not occur in the striking process, and the graded error coin you posted, which has no distortion to the design itself, has no scratches or scrapes, and is only out of round because the foreign object it was struck on was never round to begin with, unlike yours, which you can clearly see was once round and got bent and mangled into its current shape, distorting the design of the coin in the process.

You should have taken the $80 & ran! For someone to offer 325x face value for an obviously damaged coin, you'd have made out like a bandit. Could you give the phone # to this coin shop? I got a hammer & a bunch of quarters that I could pass off as "feeder finger" errors.

I just read the thing about this supposed coin shop. If there is really a place so clueless and dumb that they would offer $80 for this coin, please send me the name. I'll sell them every mangled beat up quarter I find and take them for all they're worth. I find it extremely hard to believe that any brick and mortar coin shop is actually that stupid though. Is this a real coin store, or some random dude with an Etsy shop?
