Original and G6 and very attractive; it wears its age well. The minor scratches are not enough of an issue to concern me.
These coins are surprisingly difficult to find in lower grades without major issues (holed, bent, cut, etc.) so this coin would be a lovely addition to anyone's type coin collection.
My own 1806 is a bit higher grade and raw coin but bent and has two gouges, so this would be an upgrade for me!

I'll say G-04, don't think it makes G-06.

G-4, with nice facial detail remaining.

Looks like weak strike is the cause of some of the detail loss upper part of obv, lower part of rev. Taking that into account, solid G06. Sans the obv scratches on the bust, a nice example, I like it!

Despite the weakness on the edges, I think this coin still makes G-6 due to its eye appeal and originality.

these are never "easier" with the strike issues almost always present. I always look at the highest points on both sides. not sure if thats a good thing or not line the date, separation of the hair tie, stripes on the shield and reverse lettering
I think the overall sharpness of the coin will push it to VG8. very nice original coin. I always look at the highest points on both sides

Some strong areas on the rim would push this to G-6 IMO.

know very little about these but thats one choice good looking circulated example especially that pink grey toning, you just gotta love the patina on this coin.

You all were pretty much spot on.

No offense to anyone, but I look at the evident rim wear on both sides and see this as a textbook example of G-04. No grading guide I can find would rate this G-06 with incomplete rims, much less VG-08.

thanks coinfrog. I guess I need some work on assessing wear vs strike on these and take less emphasis on strike. . we all continue to learn and adjust.
