I know, painful to see. Pulled it from a little tube of Peace dollars that mom inherited from pop-pop. It is what it is, so the diagnosis is not going to break my heart. Obviously an extreme Details case. Is there remaining value in this coin?

EF-45 details, holed. It will make a cheap filler for someone.

Someone might want it as a type coin for their 7070.
Seated Liberty dollars aren't cheap.
I agree with the EF45, details, holed, grade.
I believe the value is as a keepsake from pop pop.

Arrows, I appreciate the sentiment, but this isn't a keepsake. Pop pulled silver dollars, halves, quarters, dimes from circulation and stashed them in tubes. I do have sentimental coins that he gave me to start collecting as a kid—a Buffalo nickel with metal missing, a 1776-1976 golden brass London Bridge AZ Trade dollar, a pair of Barber dimes from the years he and grandma were born. Those I will always keep. This particular coin is just a coin, although I think it's pretty cool and might end up earmarking it for inheritance.

I do see a number of completed ebay auctions in the $150-250 range for similar holed coins from comparable dates like 1871, often in lesser condition.

Any feelings on repair?
