Well, I decided to pick this up. Pretty sure this is N-2 (sellers pics). Die crack runs along the right outer edge of the obverse as seen in third pic. Well circulated coin but at $22.50 I'm good with it. Looks about G-6, thoughts?

Sounds fair enough. Third pic is entirely different color. Which color is accurate?

Coinfrog. that last photo of the closeup is not the OP's coin. look at the detail compared to OP's

not sure if the rim hit may be bad enough to details the coin. you have a weak struck obv on this. the reverse would make Fine. the ear detail, LIBERTY, date and the rounded tops of the stars are too defined for a G coin.

i'd net it to VG8

You did well, I think. VG10 high retail is over $55-60.

That's a fair price and I think it just makes VG unless you are grading the EAC way then it's more like a G5/AG3 - I love the 1822's great set of tough dates and interesting varieties to collect.

Finally got around to taking a couple pics of the coin in hand. Natural lighting outdoors though was a bit overcast today. Far from perfect, presumably details with rim hit and scratch etc, but cheaper than a meal at Wendy's for the family. I'm happy with the addition.

tough call on details designation based on in-hand photos. the obv scratch has been there quite a while but is in a key focal area. the rim bump looks pretty minor so I'm up in the air if she grades straight or not.

interesting observation:

in the new photos the lower half of the obv has the sharpness of a F coin. sharp defined date and ll the lower stars are more well struck so I'm going with an offset weak strike on the obv. this weakness is mimicked on the rev letters of ED STATE OF. the lower half of the rev looks VG10. even though the net would be VG10 imo just wanted to point a few things out with this coin in general

VG8. For what you paid, it's just fine the way it is.

I'm in at $22.50 all day on this coin. I've paid that for wheats. I'm
Missing the big 5 on my large cent set. 1793 x 3, 1799 and 1804. Time to start being a big boy and fork over the dough for the keys.
