I'm breaking up my old type set and came across this forgotten little gem. The straight on cell phone pics seem to drain the life out of the coin. The angled pics tell a much better story. What do you think? I'm leaning toward Au50. Thanks,
ElmerFlick

I've compared it to known examples and I don't think it makes AU55. I also think it's a bit better than XF45. I suppose it also depends on strike, and I'm not too experienced with smaller denominations. How deep is that cheek gouge? I'll say AU50 and agree with you.

I'm at EF45, though it seems to have luster, it also has a lot of wear and ticks all over. I don't think it all down to strike issues on this coin.

Thanks all for your opinions. The dent by the nose is very light. The coin has more eye appeal than the photos suggest.

i cant get the coin to AU due to relatively weak strike especially the reverse. the second reverse photo is very confusing as to how much weakness is actually present. if I only saw the last 2 photos I would have put it in the AU box. i'd call it XF45 also
