19th century "Liberty" is usually a very dignified sort. For some reason, this one strikes me as a mid-century Karen ready to chew out the server at her friend's dinner party because 1) her napkin isn't folded right and 2) he's Irish.

Grade her please, and feel free to insult her.

Sorry about all those scratches on the plastic.

I'm on the fence, can't get the greatest feel of the fields and remaining luster in protected areas. AU50/53

Edit: grammar

My guess is PCGS gave it an AU58.
I say AU53

I'll say EF-45, no offence.

Should have been properly conserved before being slabbed.

Sharpness is around AU55, but there is zero luster showing up. I'd net it all the way down to a 45 between that and quite a few dings on the obverse.

It's a MAD (Misaligned Die) strike and also looks to have a slightly rotated reverse die.

Sure, it's a great strike, but both grade and bean are unwarranted if you ask me.

It surprises me how much more genteel Lady Liberty looks on the 1853 One Cent. That Half Cent woman reminds me of my ex-wife - both of them.

It has a great strike. I don't have a problem with the grade.

I also think AU(55) is fine--I would have guessed that! The green bean is another story, though. I wish we could give extra points for your humorous and witty introduction. I really enjoyed it. Now I want to take out my 1854 Half Cent and see if she is sneering at me.
