dbm62933 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 08/12/2023 3:12 pm Hello all, Just looking for what I have found on a couple Penny's. The first one, I had a Coin guy look at it. He said it was a " Cud error". I'm just not sure he was correct. I have a couple Cud errors in the edge/rim of some coins. Just curious what you all think. Let last 3 photos are on one coin. The errors affect the mint and the "8" on the coin. Again, just gathering some opinions on what you think happened to these coins. Thank you all for you advise.I am new to this but have been learning as I go. Just felt that I should join a chat thread to make things easier. Report this Post to the Staff

These are zinc bubbles where dust was trapped under the layer of copper on the zinc core coin. It's common to see these on the earlier years of copper plated cents. Once the bubbles open up and expose the core they, can start to corrode resulting in the dreaded Zinc Rot. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T!
