Could those 2 dies have been made at the same time but one wasn't used until the next year at a different mint? Report this Post to the Staff

Tanman2001 Pillar of the Community United States 4395 Posts	Posted 08/12/2023 3:24 pm I believe the similarities are just coincidental. The curve of the die crack on the C is different and it seems the crack is thicker near the rim on the 2005 than on the 2006. Report this Post to the Staff

Just thought how could a/those dies crack in the very close same looking location. Even the two running from the lower C to the A. I read ( a long time ago) how the die's were made. But can't remember if they heat/treat a few together? Could the dowel that the dies were made from have a weak area there/that side of the dowel?
