Some from Caesarea for comparison. Not sure about the denomination of the OP coin.

It might be a denarius after second thoughts.
Thanks for the mint place and information given. Any idea who's head this might be?

I read [Π]A[C]IANOC CEB, without much confidence in the Π and (to a lesser extent) the first C. Looking at the Wildwinds list of emperors, it would have to be Vespasian.

...or his name, anyway; the best match from the linked RPC results is RPC II 1638, for Titus as Caesar under Vespasian, with a legend that mentions Vespasian by name.

Interesting coin!
The denomination is "drachm", by the way.

Thank you! How did you find this using RPC. By using the wording of the letters known in various forms?
If I may ask?

I fixed the search given by Kamnaskires (by clicking "Refine search" and then "Search" without changing anything) and got this link, which should hopefully show 7 types when you click on it?

After that I just cross-checked the lettering. I missed a better match, though: RPC II 1655, with a less ugly portrait of Titus.

Exactly. Here's a screenshot of my search there. It helped in this case that I suspected Caesarea in the first place. If you have a coin that you know (or just think) is Provincial, the advanced search function at RPC Online is fantastic since, in addition to allowing you to enter partial legends, it provides search parameters/ranges for weight and diameter. Note, though: in the "Designs" section, be sure to always use "r." for right, and "l." for left since that's the convention there - using "right" or "left" in a description will often provide zero returns. Obviously, you don't have to complete each field on the search form - just what you can. It will often provide some hits that work for your coin.

Thanks Kamnaskires! It looks like it works good in this way. I will give it a try and my next post would be with a new one and a match, I hope :)
