Well, it's visually very striking. Seems unlikely that a DDO would happen opposite a DDR. Can you post full pics of the obverse and reverse?

looks like what's left of MD after some extreme circulation flattening.. (just guessing on the flattening though)

Ok, I'm not a metallurgist. My thought on cents like this is, the zinc is disenigrating on the inside which in turn collapses the thin cooper plating. It looks like with the more circulation the cooper is collapsing inward.
