Dang! I missed the 28 days of Morgans. Lots of nice specimens.

This is 1 of 8 from my Father-in-Laws collection. At least 5 of them are from Littleton as evidenced by the packaging. Not so sure about the other three. Ranking is generally from Littleton packaging.

1882-O VF-20
1884-O XF - Extra Fine (40,45)
1886
1889-O F - Fine (12,15)
1889-O
1896 XF - Extra Fine (40,45)
1921 XF - Extra Fine (40,45)
1921-D XF - Extra Fine (40,45)

So...two reasons for this post.

1. Just wanted to show my Morgan(s). I'll post others in individual posts since I'm told one coin per post is the norm. The 1882-O is listed in my database of VF-20 which may be my own assessment, I've no paperwork. Again, memory is a bit foggy. There's nothing remarkable about it that I see but I'm still learning. Any opinions on the ranking?

2. Photography. Opinions about the pic, please. I bought a used Minolta MN35Z from a Goodwill auction to photograph my coins. Was having too many problems using my phone camera. Settings: F3.5, 1/15, ISO400 (auto setting using Scene-CloseUp mode: I know that is meaningless unless you know the camera.). Image setting in camera is 2048x1536. Lighting is a household LED bulb located 2 feet from the coin (~15 degree angle) using white poster board as reflector, lens about 6" above the coin. Used 2 second delay to stabilize the image.

So is the image suitable for a close assessment of quality? What needs improving? I'm still learning the camera but hope to be able to get a really closeup shot (mint mark, date, etc.)
