I started building a whole set of wheats. I thought it would be more difficult than it is but I hunt everyday. I keep a list of each one along with the mint marks beside the dates. I never planned on trying to find the set with all mint marks, I just go by the dates. I know for sure I'm missing the 1909 1926 1943 and a few 30s. I can't say they're all in good shape but it's not to sell. I just wanted a challenge. I started this project nearly 6 months ago.

to the CCF That is a fun goal that you have set for yourself. Enjoy the hunt. A numismatist calls your collection a date set. It's a rather common way to collect a series of coins where only one example of each year is needed. This way you can avoid the truly high priced key date examples. For example, you will not need the 1909-S cent, 1914-D etc. Keep us posted on your progress.

OP if you still need a 1909, I'm happy to send you this one. Please email me by 12/31/23 if you're interested. I can post reverse picture if you ask. This is not for sale. Just a gift.

GL Csil88. The Lincoln Wheat set was my first to complete. I had to purchase the 09svdb, 14d, and 22 no d strong reverse, but the remainder of the set I found in circulation. I even found a 31s xf in circulation. Hint.........On the keys, I suggest obtaining certified specimens.

I found 5 wheaties in my vinegar jar of pennies. Kept them separate for no particular reason. That's all that I have and not sure if I will take the challenge to complete the series. I do search penny rolls but I only get these from a bank so not sure how fruitful a wheatie search will be. Anyway, here are my 5: 1945S, 49d, 51d, 56d & 58d. Just posting, no questions.
