the last silver halves intended for circulation were dated 1969, various later years saw silver halves made for collector sets

Year containing 90% silver: 1964 12.5g weight

Kennedy half dollars dated 1965-1970 are 40% silver and also trade in relation to their silver content value. Weight 11.5g. This new composition is 80% silver and 20% copper layers bonded to a center core of 21% silver and 79% copper. A total of 40% silver by weight.

1970-d last circulating silver coin 40% silver. 1970-D Kennedy half dollar issued only in uncirculated sets. The 1970-D Kennedy half dollar was only sold in Mint Sets from that year. Just over two million coins were sold, making it the lowest mintage business strike Kennedy half dollar from 1964 to 2005 (2006 mintages are slightly lower). In 1970, Denver was the only Mint which produced mint state Kennedy half dollars. Proof coins were produced at the San Francisco Mint only, and can be distinguished by the S mint mark. 1970 was the last year in which the Mint produced business strike half dollars containing silver. Silver Proofs were reintroduced in 1992. https://www.pcgs.com/news/1970d-ken...lar-turns-50

1970-s 40% silver proof.

75% copper, 25% nickel clad starting 1971. 11.34g 75% copper and 25% nickel.

1976 S 90% silver put into special sets but might possibly show up in change weight will be 11.5g

1971D and 1977D found minted on silver blank by mistake 11.5g for silver, 11.34g for non silver https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...-silver.html https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...ver-planchet

1992-This is the first year in which the Mint struck 90% Silver Proof Kennedy half's with an S mint mark. The last time the Mint had struck 90% Silver Proof Kennedy half's was in 1964. However, the 1964 Proofs did not contain the S mint mark. Additionally, the new Proof Silver Kennedy half's struck from 1992 and after had slight differences in the details of the design. The 1992-S Silver Proofs had the lettering thicker on both the obverse and reverse than that of the 1964 Proofs. The Proof Silver Kennedy half's have been struck by the U.S. Mint and sold in Silver Proof Sets every year since 1992. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...r-dcam/96834
