Any thoughts on this, brothers and sisters? It's up for auction at Heritage. I've bid it as far as I think I can go, based on what I see but if the grade is accurate then it's worth going higher. (Spoiler alert: grade is generous side imo).

Curious to know where you would put it?

It's pitted from corrosion or PVC damage.
An expensive hole filler at best.

Looks more like VF20-25 to me. I also don't like the pitting and think it should likely have detailed. Feels to me like the price it's at is already too high, but I guess it depends on how much you really want it. In the end it's worth what someone will pay for it, as always.

It's a rare coin so it's one of those things that you sometimes have to accept second best. But it's graded VF35. I would put it at F15 to VF20 myself. Just wondering what the rest of you would think. Agreed on the pitting. Not sure about the PVC but might be...

Wear-wise F15
Looks like a touch of green below the 5 and between Victoria and Newfoundland, has the look of some coins I have used acetone on to remove PVC gunk.

I'd graciously assign a VF20 but others could argue net grade F15.

Its a joke that DBM thinks this is a glorified hole filler. There aren't many of these in existence in any condition so one like this is a great example!

@Deductable - agreed. I think it's on the F/VF line [as is so often the case, PCGS is far too generous with lower grade Canadian coins). But a hole-filler would be a G6...which, at 60% Trends would likely set you back by by $100 - $150.

F-15, defiantly not just a hole filler.
