It seems other letters in LIBERTY and the S and T in TRUST are doubled or have Machine Doubling. On the reverse, there appears to be a spear running through the I and B PLURIBUS. Please advise. oddguy Pillar of the Community United States 4135 Posts	Posted 08/31/2023 8:42 pm Get a bunch of shield cents I bet you will find similar marks on Liberty on many of them. Those are scratches, it looks like the marks are under letters but they are actually over the top, it is just that the letters are not embossed like the other letters and numbers.
