Regarding counterfeit coins ---In the past, I have always relied on checking for proper weight and signs of casting. Nowadays, I seem to come across undetectable fakes and it seems one needs a metal discriminator to insure authenticity. So, I intend to purchase one and because they are so expensive, I'm afraid to buy one that doesn't meet my needs (mostly just coins and jewelry). Can anyone out there share their experience as to what make and model would be best suited for me. I'm looking for something not too complicated to use and suitable for the the average collector (not for commercial use). ---Many thanks
