There are not too many that have the 1 of the date that far left, with a tilted 8. Point of the curl over the 8. Spacing, too. Then, by lining up denticles to the date, etc. of candidates could the variety be discerned
E&V: I've had a lot of fun with Late Dates through the decades (a lot more fun before Bob G. published his first ed.!). It's almost like The Last Frontier of old Copper collecting. You can still find some really good coins in holders that are nicer than their prices indicate
jacrispies: one of the reasons that I think the last two date digits were erased is the neat little bit of inner-rim excising done over star 6 at 11:30 on the obverse
