Do the images show the true colors of the coin? I really can't tell what you have.

This is a stained or heavily toned quarter, if it were missing a clad layer, it would weight lighter than normal and look like copper.

Nice image of the rim but the weight really needs to be determined to confirm it's missing a layer.

You can get a scale accurate to 2 decimal places (in grams) on Amazon for $10.

If you are going to buy a scale,best to get one that reads down to 0.001 and not 0.01. John1

@John three decimal places is way overkill since the third place will be trivial within mint tolerances for any coin. One vs. two decimal places is the cutoff that matters.
