Hi Everyone. This is one of a small number of Morgan dollars I just came across. I am looking for your opinions on its grade as well as any information you can share to help me work on the rest of them myself. Thanks for any replies.

PCGS has photo examples of their grading levels. You can click on the Morgan pics and compare to yours. Also Vamworld is a great place to look for Morgan and Peace varieties. Circulated Morgan and Peace cost more than they used to. I check my local coin store, online dealers and ebay sold listings for price comparisons. I'm careful to avoid buying fakes. I'd say yours is high VF range and may have been cleaned but I'm no expert. Nice pics.

I'll say EF-45+, unsure if cleaned.

Surfaces are highly suspect. It's XF-ish, but it's bullion value only. If you have a stash of circulated Morgans to work through:

* Look for natural surface colors. For common-date coins, original surfaces are more valuable than less-worn coins that have been cleaned or polished.
* Use sites like PCGS to determine if there are any better (less common) dates. 1921s are the least desirable Morgans, not only because they are by far the most common, but also because the shallow dies used to make them were of poor quality.
