Posted this one several days ago in "classic grading" a sharp eyed member caught the clashed E at right knee cap. I've researched the clashed E variety looking for one similar to this example and came up with no matches.
Notice the faint star peeking over her right shoulder and the strong upside down M located just under the clashed E.
Some other faint clashing next to left thigh area that seem connecting to nearest star...is this the so called shooting star?
Not finding much info on these clashed die Standing Liberty quarters any help much appreciated.

I also think clashing has gone on as well...

Uneven wear puts this in the VF range for my eyes overall...

On the clashing, the M is in the word America, and one can see the partial E next to the M. But above the M, is the E of the motto.

In 2015 our very own Forum member "koinpro" posted this plate coin picture for an "E Clash FS - 401" (: Knaus R. H 2004).
This plate coin posted 8 years ago has answerd any and all questions about my 1923 example. Fascinating a picture says a thousand words.

Found the maddieclashes.com website and various Standing Liberty quarters from 1920's are listed with photos of very similar clash marks. Sent an email inquiring when they may be accepting submissions again and indicated my interest in doing so. Website says no submissions for at least one year so everything is tentative. From my very unscientific research methods (surfing web listings and past sales) I located about 4% were are the E clash die variety so it dosent appear to be a great rarity. Still a neat looking clash that can be picked up for a small or no premium.

Very nice clash on your example with a very pleasant original surface and mellow tone.
I Picked up this one for comparison the clashing appears stronger likely from being produced in an earlier die state. The star over her right shoulder is much stronger on this coin.
The FS-401designation is noted but not certain if its a blanket attribution for all "E Clash" SLQ's or just the dates shown on maddieclash site?
