...I've looked at the coin with a 7x doublet & 10x triplet, & can find no evidence of acidic corrosion, polishing, scraping, etc. The surfaces are clean, clear & smooth, the features are crisp & sharp, with tiny flecks of nickle here & there...
...the coin is showing little to no wear, & I would put the grade about XF, maybe AU (no expert here...)
...I would be curious to know what could impact a nickle cladding, leaving no trace of it's action to the remaining copper...
...I'm leaning to maybe the cladding process failed on this planchet, but, again, not an expert at all in this field ...
