1964 Kennedy Half Dollar Never Seen Before Error/Defect? Need Help Please

tbommarito05 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 09/15/2023 6:17 pm I had inherited a bunch of coins a while ago and I was getting ready to organize them and within the half dollars I came across this 1964 Kennedy half dollar with this black streaking or whatever on it. I have never seen anything like it, and the back of the coin is perfect. Does anyone know what is going on with this coin? I appreciate your insight and help. Report this Post to the Staff

Morgans Dad Pillar of the Community United States 5604 Posts	Posted 09/18/2023 12:02 pm A Different View, Where are My Manners, Welcome to the Forum, I see the Kennedy 1964 Halve has Been Heated or Near Burnt, I also see the Concentrate Circle Formation on the Obverse, Around The Perimeter of Mr Kennedy's Face. I see what May be A " Goldish " Hue along the Reverse's Outer Perimeter, Suggesting The Coin Shown has been Exposed to a Heat Source and That Heat source was applied to the " Imprinted Blackened or Necrotic Rounded Object, " which left the Mark or Stain, upon The Obverse, Just My Opinion, Thank You for Sharing, Mike.......
