The 1937 $5 Osborne-Towers banknote seems to be scarce which I assume is reflected by the higher values listed in the Charlton Catalog. I will start it off with one I purchased 18 years ago, I am thinking about getting it graded but I'm not sure if it is worth doing.

Osborne fives seem to be more scarce than tens or twenties, you're not going to get many posted here. Looks a little faded but that could be because you're scanning it in the holder, IMO your note could easily grade VF30, well worth grading.

That "Ozzy" $5 is a beauty Enyaw!
Yes, the FIVES are toughest of the short "Osborne" signature variety.
It does look VF30 to me but I'm not sure it would get "original" or EPQ. There appears to be a slight edge tear on the top left border. It may be okay (I cannot tell) but that & a small mark on the allegorical figure's chest, plus soiling, or a slight stain inside the A into the border (at the top left "BANK OF CANADA ") could drop those designations.
Nonetheless, a very bright, attractive note!

Thanks for your thoughts/compliment on this note DBM & walk2dwater. I stepped up back then and won the ebay auction for $328.01. I thought I might have overpaid a bit but felt better once I saw it in person!

The design is well centred with jumbo borders on the reverse. Very few detractions (other than the minor things I mentioned). It's a clean note with nice eye appeal. True auctions on ebay are becoming a thing of the past so you got true market value rather than somebody's BIN figure (which can be inflated).

Great result, Enyaw! Very nice centering! Here is mine. Centering is off but I was happy with the rest of it.

Very nice note, Enyaw, and congrats on the grading result. Also a nice example you've shared, Q60driver.
