More adventures in budget collecting. I'd guess the mottled appearance helped lower the price a little, without creating too awful a distraction.

It's early but not at all rare, with the third-highest mintage of any Half Cent. This variety is slightly less common but still nothing extraordinary.

Another great coin for the downwardly mobile numismatist, I think. What say you?

Cohen-10 variety The most common non spiked chin. I'd say it's a nice high end VF 30 or 35 as well a bit of old staining and light porosity shouldn't make a details grade I'd say a straight grade too.

PCGS is usually pretty high and in my opinion usually over grades on early copper, so I won't be surprised if they grade it as high as an EF45.
