If someone know something about Chinese coins, I would be glad if this one could be identified:

It's a Kai Yuan Tong Bao, issued by the Tang dynasty emperors between 621 and 950 AD. An expert in cash coins might be able to give you a narrower date range for your coin.

Edit: typo in Dynasty name. Sorry!

Looks like H#14.4 is the best match, which narrows the dating to 718-732.

I'm no expert, but I would be surprised if it's authentic.

DCH, why? Is there something wrong with the coin? Are they valuable if they are authentic, coins from this period?

The patina looks odd and the calligraphy is little off from the examples in Hartill. It may be real, but it doesn't look right to me. Compare it to the examples at Zeno.ru http://www.zeno.ru/showgallery.php?cat=3480

Value is probably ~$10.

Sounds odd to me if someone should make a fake coin about this one when it's so low valuable. But u sure know better,I'm not an expert..
