Hoping for some opinions on valuing this quarter.

I want to say EF as my best guess.

I'm not good at determining if it's cleaned or dipped.

And lastly how much would that rim damage impact value.

Unfortunately I can only go by photos so can't really say for sure what's going on.

I would say it's an XF-40 but most likely a details grade for an old cleaning. I don't think the rim bump detracts from the coin.
The crown and hair detail looks very nice.

Hmm - initial impression is that it's on the VF/EF line. But I'm concerned about possible damage to the rim on the reverse as well as (second photo especially) what might be an old or not-so-old cleaning. I don't think those are hairlines - more like a couple minor scratches. Obverse better than the reverse.

Doesn't look like a 7/7 or die break A but there's a slim chance there's a repunched A in Canada. Can you provide a clearer photo?

Thanks for the feed back. Was going to offer as much as $85 but if it's cleaned then not sure. I've asked for a lot of photos but that's the best I got.

EF-XF
That rim ding really reduces value.
1872's are the most common Vickies in higher grades.
Wait for a better one to come along, damaged is only good at hole filler pricing.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I'd say VF-30. Wait for something better

Ok, thanks again. I've decided to leave it be. Might be buying a lot of coins from someone, mostly non circulating coins and sets so less worry about condition and being cleaned at least.

VF to EF, possibly details from a cleaning.

Looks solidly EF to me, particularly the reverse. I'd agree that there is likely some cleaning there that would cause it to detail. The rim hit definitely detracts from the value of it. Imho it's not worth $85 so passing was a good choice.
