@clc, first welcome to CCF. Second, the Greek inscription translates as "The truth will set you free" and comes from the book of John in the Bible.

Added: ah looks like @tdz was thinking along the same lines. Teamwork! The blank reverse would most likely be engraved with whoever went through their first communion.
