This will happen to me from time to time and was wondering if this has happened to any of you? When going through a roll I will encounter a coin that does this. I will first see pits all over and I actually watch them disappear over a 5 second period. There is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens. All I could come up with was moisture that evaporates. What is strange is that it will happen in the middle of a roll and the very next coin is fine. Thoughts on this?

That is odd. I agree that it must be some liquid evaporating, so not pits but rather little drops.

I'll agree w/ the condensation evaporation theory. Possibly droplets become trapped between coins & the wrapper is so tight, moisture cannot escape until air reaches it?

You're probably right. It does look like moisture.

It could be moisture.
Is it humid there in Church Point at this time of year?
Maybe the rolls were ship or stored when it was humid.
