1960 Large Date Lincoln Cent With Strange Change In Appearance? Any Theory?

grospoisson Pillar of the Community United States 984 Posts	Posted 10/09/2023 11:43 am This will happen to me from time to time and was wondering if this has happened to any of you? When going through a roll I will encounter a coin that does this. I will first see pits all over and I actually watch them disappear over a 5 second period. There is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens. All I could come up with was moisture that evaporates. What is strange is that it will happen in the middle of a roll and the very next coin is fine. Thoughts on this? Report this Post to the Staff

coin rejector Pillar of the Community United States 2832 Posts	Posted 10/09/2023 12:04 pm I'll agree w/ the condensation evaporation theory. Possibly droplets become trapped between coins & the wrapper is so tight, moisture cannot escape until air reaches it? Report this Post to the Staff
