Well this will be a continuation of the topic listed just below:
2010 W American Veterans Disable For Life Proof Silver Dollar
http://goccf.com/t/453735I'm starting this one because, while it is relevant to the other one, it is also not at the same time. You see in a post of mine in that topic
http://goccf.com/t/453735#3925104, I stated that I would give up the medal I just bought to another Vet during my med appointment.
Well my appointment was today, and I brought the medal with me - I was not sure I was going to go and actually give it up though.
But when I got to my Physical Therapy Clinic, I saw another Vet there is a Wheelchair accompanied by his Daughter, You see this Vet was not able to move or speak very well (from a massive Brain injury). I had ZERO doubt that he was the person that was supposed to get this coin. I handed it over to the Daughter (I found out that she was the Daughter when she looks at me then the little box and asked me if I was sure I wanted to give it to him. Her next statement just killed me - she said to the VET "Dad, look what this man just gave you").
She handed it to him and with a bit of trouble (and help) he opened it up and saw the medal. they both were just stunned at the sight of the coin.
She thanked me, asked me my name, of which I gave it. Then I just walked away and sat down to wait for my appointment time to come.
No pictures were taken, I thought it would have been in very bad form and taste. I didn't ask their names either.
When I got called in for my appointment, the Daughter looked up and gave me a huge smile and a thumbs up.
They were gone by the time my appointment ended.
I almost cried then, and am misting up a bit now as I type this. I got chills just thinking about it.
